The blind Argentinian genius [Borges] was keen on another almost metaphysical topic that was what got me into his oeuvre in the first place: doppelgängers. The idea that I could bump into a person that shared my own face, let alone a similar personality and, God knows, even the same soul and desires, was something I was quite obsessed with. Those ideas were the ones that made my personal life a little bit lonelier than what I was willing to admit: some girls, and I totally understand them, got unbelievable bored the moment I delved into the subject that most of them just considered the silliest and least interesting of the kinks. I could not help it: once I wrapped my mind around a novel idea, I was doomed to overthink the concept until it lost any kind of meaning and understandability to anyone except my by-then quite disturbed psyche.
