The dictionary defines an Oneironaut as a person who travels in their own lucid dreams while sleeping, and when Coronavirus lockdown was imposed on the UK in March 2020 artist Pamela Tait and writer Douglas Thompson began a remote collaboration to explore their fears of what the world-halting plague might mean for the future of human civilisation. Oneironauts tells of one survivor of a catastrophe which has done the worst damage imaginable, leaving all of society shut-down and abandoned. Confined to his attic, compelled to face his own demons and ponder the reasons for humanity’s demise, our protagonist must seek whatever contact he can find in what remains of the internet in a dying world.
